Where is Carriacou?
Carriacou is located in the country of Grenada in the West Indies and is 100 miles southwest of Barbados. The average flying time from New York to Grenada is four and a half hours. Many airlines have direct flights to Grenada and from there it's a short 20 minute flight on SVG Airlines or a 90 minute ferry ride aboard the Osprey Ferry to Carriacou. SVG also offers Private Charter Flights from numerous destinations in the Eastern Caribbean to the island of Carriacou. If you're having trouble finding direct flights into Grenada to reach Carriacou, consider flying into Barbados or Trinidad and taking one of the local Caribbean Airlines for the one hour flight to Grenada. From Grenada it's a 90 minute ferry ride or a 20 minute flight on SVG Air to Carriacou. Private planes can also be chartered out of Barbados, Grenada or Union. Bluewater Villa is a ten minute drive from Carriacou's Lauriston airport or three minutes from the ferry dock.
Fly SVG Airlines (473) 444 3549 /1475 SVG Airlines operates 2-3 flights per day in each direction between Grenada and Carriacou. Flight duration is 20 minutes. There's only 7 seats on the plane, so book as early as possible. Private planes can also be chartered out of Barbados, Grenada or Union. Bluewater Villa is a five minute drive from Carriacou's Lauriston airport. Emailing SVG can be slow, best to phone.
Ferry - (473) 440-8126 The Osprey Ferry sails once per day from Grenada to Carriacou and return from Carriacou return to Grenada. Tickets can be purchased at the Grenada ferry dock on the Carnage just prior to boarding. Tickets must be pre-purchased in Carriacou at the office on Main Street and it's a two minute walk to the ferry from there.

The ferry ride can be a little bumpy going from Grenada to Carriacou however the return trip is a little smoother so you may want to consider flying to Carriacou and taking the ferry back to Grenada. That way you'll get the best of both worlds with stunning, aerial ocean/island views of Grenada and the little islands in between on the SVG flight and a nice boat cruise on your way back. Reserve your SVG flight early to avoid disappointment. We suggest calling them directly rather then emailing them. 473-444-3549. Please note that there is a 20KG (44lb) luggage limit on SVG Airlines and extra KG's are subject to a charge of $5.00EC per kilo. If you have more than one bag per person your luggage might not make it to the island until a later flight as luggage storage room is limited on the plane. You'll also be required to pick it up at the Lauriston Airport in Carriacou. Alternately, you can load your excess luggage ($15.00 - $20.00EC per bag) on the Osprey Ferry, fly to Carriacou and then arrange with our driver to pick it up for you at the airport and deliver it to the house once you've confirmed what flight it's on.
