Georgie Tuson
Georgie was raised in England but set sail early in life and eventually made her home in Carriacou. Working in numerous mediums she brings the Caribbean alive in her brightly coloured and often whimsical paintings on canvas and driftwood. Georgie also makes a beautiful line of decorative hand painted bowls made from Calabash and sea creatures from paper mache, painted tiles and furniture. Georgie sells her works privately. 443-7984

Kato Charles
Kato was raised in Canada and has now returned to live full time in Carriacou. She worked in various fields before discovering her gift for weaving. While still new to the industry, she's creating beautiful works and is expanding her line of woven household articles at a swift pace. Using mostly rag weaving, she's creating beautiful baskets, floor rugs, pot holders and artworks in a tropical palette of colours. View Kato's work at the Vendors Market or call 459-9333.

Carriacou Vendors Market
Located beside the bus terminal in the main town of Hillsborough (behind Ade's Dream) stands a cluster of brightly painted stands with fresh fruit and vegetables, locally made arts and crafts including jewellery, paintings, weaving, hand made and tie dyed clothing, crochet items, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, calabash musical shakers, hats, purses, candle holders, polished shells and t-shirts.

The Stone Masons of Carriacou
While not really artisans in a traditional sense, the final outcome of their work tells a different story. After the rock is quarried it's placed at the side of the road for sale where the masons either hand choose each piece or order it by the truck load depending on the size of the job. Each piece is chiseled to size and cemented in place, then filled in and cleaned until a smooth surface is acquired. Quarry process and masons at work in the gallery below.

Camp Kayak
Creative Arts Program based on Carriacou, Grenada. Servicing local youths from primary school ages and up, marginalized by economic conditions of small rural West Indian Island community life.
